BIOGRAPHY

bio pic2.jpeg

Terence Ramsey is a self-taught painter originally from Tennessee whose work explores abstract expressionism and the emotional tone of ordinary places. He began painting as a way to slow down and respond to memory, atmosphere, and the quiet weight of everyday environments. Working primarily in oil, he builds his images through layered color, simplified forms, and intuitive mark-making. His process often moves between observation and memory, allowing each painting to evolve gradually into a balance of structure and feeling. Ramsey is interested in how subtle shifts in color and composition can suggest mood rather than describe it. His work invites viewers into quiet spaces where reflection replaces narrative, and where seeing becomes a more emotional experience.
